A first Ugly Dumpling for the Philadelphia area
City Avenue is the boundary between Philadelphia and Lower Merion Township, so this address is effectively on the city line. For diners in Philadelphia and the Main Line, it will be far closer than anything on the list today.
Until it opens, the nearest restaurant serving food is in Delran, New Jersey on US-130, across the Delaware River. Southwest of the city, Newark, Delaware on East Main Street is the other choice.
What a first order costs
Expect the same menu as the New Jersey restaurants. Classic pork soup dumplings, egg fried rice and a scallion pancake for two come to roughly $30 before tax and tip. The full menu with prices lists every dish.
Vegetarians have more to choose from than at most dumpling houses. The vegetarian and vegan guide covers what to ask.
Checking before you go
