About UglyDumplings.us and its author
This is an independent guide to the Ugly Dumpling restaurants. It is written for diners who want a straight answer on where the restaurants are, what is on the menu, what it costs and when it is open.

The author
Philipp Chaykin holds a master’s degree in restaurant and hotel management and has 14 years of experience in the U.S. restaurant market. He writes and edits every guide here, and he reads menus the way an operator does: how they are organized, how portions work and where the value is.
You can reach him through the contact page.
How we work
Location data starts with the published restaurant list: address, phone number and format. Context comes from local news coverage, which we name on the page when we use it. Prices come from the menu data we compiled in October 2026. The full rules are on the editorial policy page.
We are not affiliated with Ugly Dumpling or its owners. Read the disclaimer for details.
What you will find here
Each town has its own page, from Edison, the first restaurant, to the newest listings. There is a full menu with prices, plus guides on how to order, dipping sauces and vegetarian and vegan dishes.
Why this site exists
Menu searches are full of half-answers. A page tells you a restaurant exists but not the phone number, the hours, whether a location is newly listed or what a dinner costs. We wanted one place that answers all four.
Each location page was written for the town it covers, with a priced sample order and questions people ask about that restaurant. Where we cannot confirm something, such as a happy hour or an opening date, we say so.
What we will not do
We do not speak for the restaurant and do not claim to. We do not publish unverifiable claims such as a happy hour time we have not confirmed. We do not use the restaurant’s logo. You can read the full rules on the editorial policy page, and report a mistake through the contact page.
